One portal, built to stand on its own

Introducer Portal

About

A SaaS B2B business working with Cloud Combinator on AWS. The client is anonymised at their request.

Challenge

The build was defined around four focus areas that together make referral and pre-sale compliance frictionless for the agent.

A production-grade, multi-tenant foundation

The portal serves a group, legal entity, branch, and team structure with five introducer roles plus the client's superuser, so the platform had to

Live compliance, in advisory language

Yoti identity, PEP and sanctions screening, a third-party provider proof of funds, and Companies House search must run end to end, store their results, and surface them, always as advisory information rather than a pass or fail, so the firm's regulatory judgement stays with the firm.

Integration integrity with the client's portal

The connection to the client's client portal is the critical path. It is built to an agreed event contract that must be idempotent and replayable, producing zero duplicated leads, quotes, or orders on retry, with event ordering preserved or resolvable.

A complete introducer journey

From creating a property and adding parties, through compliance, digital legal pack, D&D searches and Stripe payment, to instructing the client and tracking the matter, a pilot introducer must be able to complete the full journey in production.

Solution

The validated prototype is the functional and visual reference. Cloud Combinator rebuilds it as a production single-page app on a serverless stack, sequencing the work so the foundation and the critical integration path are addressed in the right order.

Changes

Delivery is defined against a clear acceptance table: full functional coverage of the estate-agent feature set, compliance checks operating end to end, an idempotent and replayable integration with zero duplicates on the agreed test set, and a pilot introducer completing the full journey in production, all on AWS behind Amazon CloudFront and AWS WAF in the UK region. The figures below are indicative projections from the Statement of Work.

  • Serverless by choiceBecause introducer load is variable and idles between bursts, a serverless design with Aurora Serverless v2 keeps idle cost low, and can move to containers later without changing the data or integration model.
  • Built to stand aloneThe client's portal is treated as one integration among many, so the product can later be offered to other firms rather than being locked to a single client.
  • Compliance that advises, not decidesIdentity, proof-of-funds, and company checks return results in advisory language, keeping regulatory judgement with the firm.
  • Data-minimised and UK-residentThe workload runs in the London region under UK GDPR, encrypted in transit and at rest, with least-privilege IAM and identity data minimised.
  • HandoverSource, infrastructure-as-code, a deployment runbook, and integration documentation are delivered as part of acceptance.

With a production, multi-tenant foundation in place, the portal is positioned to add the mortgage-broker variant and further introducer features, and to extend to other firms, no longer a prototype but a platform ready for whatever the client takes on next.
