Automating Global Legal Highlights

Global Legal Highlights Automation

About

A SaaS B2B business working with Cloud Combinator on AWS. The client is anonymised at their request.

Challenge

The design work centred on three focus areas that any automation of Global Legal Highlights had to satisfy.

Freeing expensive expert time

The first focus was the roughly 40 hours a week specialists spend on manual scanning, relevance filtering and drafting. Automating the sourcing and filtering, the least rewarding part of the task, would return that time to judgement and analysis without losing editorial quality.

Consistent coverage with full provenance

The second focus was breadth and traceability. Coverage across 150 markets, 50-plus languages and 221 sources had to be applied the same way every week, with nothing quietly missed and every entry traceable back to its origin.

Keeping experts in control

The final focus was trust. Nothing could be published without human sign-off, and the system had to work only from real source documents so it could never invent a regulation, with a written reason recorded for every decision.

Solution

Cloud Combinator proposed an Agile, milestone-based delivery that de-risks the initiative and lets the client avoid paying the full project fee up front. The solution is targeted to be production-ready in Q4 2026, ahead of the January member renewals.

  • 221 - Regulatory sources covered in tiers
Changes

Cloud Combinator delivered a complete business case and Azure solution design: an agentic pipeline that mirrors the client's existing standard operating procedure, a reusable regulatory knowledge base, a single review surface, and a fixed-price, production-standard

  • Automated research and draftingAI handles the weekly scanning, relevance filtering and first-draft summaries, while the team reviews and approves.
  • Broader, consistent coverageEvery source checked every week, with nothing quietly missed and every entry traceable to its origin.
  • Reusable knowledge baseRegulatory information captured once and reused across the newsletter, client enquiries and future projects rather than locked inside each week's email.
  • Experts in controlTwo human checkpoints preserved, no publication without sign-off, and a system that works only from real sources so it cannot invent a regulation.
  • HandoverA fixed-price, milestone-based plan to design, build, quality-test and deploy inside the client's Azure tenant, with validation against historical decisions before go-live.

Build plan validated against historical decisions before go-live. The figures below describe the scale of the problem and the engagement plan rather than delivered production results.

With a proven design that runs inside the client's own environment and a delivery plan targeted for Q4 2026, the client has a low-risk path to a higher-quality newsletter, and a first agentic capability it can extend to horizon-scanning and client enquiries next.
